# Namma Benglooru > Namma Benglooru ("our Bengaluru", said the way the city says it; formerly called Namma Ooru) is a free open-world game set in Bengaluru (Bangalore), India, that you play in a laptop or desktop web browser: no download, no install, no account, no sign-up. Chapter 1, "Koramangala", launches on Sunday 1 November 2026, Kannada Rajyotsava. It is made by an indie developer in Bengaluru. Key facts (kept in step with the press fact sheet at https://benglooru.com/press/): - Website: https://benglooru.com/ - Play: https://benglooru.com/play/ (opens straight into the game) - Price: free. - Platform: a web browser on a laptop or desktop (Chrome, Edge or Firefox with WebGL2), keyboard and mouse; a gamepad works too. Not on phones yet; phone visitors can send the link to their laptop. - Genre: open world, action, driving. Single player. - Setting: Bengaluru, one area at a time. Chapter 1 is Koramangala (80 Feet Road, Hosur Road, Sarjapur Road and the blocks between), rebuilt from OpenStreetMap street data. - Weather: the in-game sky follows the live weather over Koramangala, so when it rains in Bengaluru, it rains in the game. - Story: you arrive as a new delivery rider with one bag and a backlog: eight story missions and four side stories. - Between missions: eighteen kinds of vehicle (scooters, autos, buses, water tankers, an ambulance, a fire engine and more), police chases with a wanted level, fights, street races, odd jobs (paramedic, firefighter, vigilante, taxi, delivery), five radio stations of original music, photo mode, and a button that saves the last 15 seconds as a video. - Cheats are typed as words, most of them Kannada: MACHA, KASU, MALEBANTHU, SILKBOARD and more. - Languages: voices in Kannada and English, mixed the way the city talks; text and captions in English. - Saves: progress stays in the player's own browser; a save file can move it to another computer. - Names: every shop, brand and business in the game is a parody. The streets are real. - Contact: hello@benglooru.com ## Pages - [Home](https://benglooru.com/): the trailer, the city, what you can do, the launch date - [How to play](https://benglooru.com/how-to-play/): controls, what your laptop needs, and frequently asked questions - [Press kit](https://benglooru.com/press/): fact sheet, paste-ready descriptions, logo, stills, clips, the trailer and the full cheat list - [About](https://benglooru.com/about/): why Bengaluru, why Koramangala first, who makes it - [Credits](https://benglooru.com/credits/): map data, weather, 3D models, music, sound, code and fonts - [Privacy](https://benglooru.com/privacy/): anonymous counts only, no cookies, an optional email list ## Frequently asked - Is it free? Yes. Free to play in your browser, nothing to download or pay. - Does it work on a phone? Not yet. It needs a laptop or desktop with a keyboard (or a controller). - Do I need an account? No. Press Play and you are in Koramangala. - Will my laptop run it? Most recent laptops do, in a recent Chrome, Edge or Firefox. On older machines the game lowers its own quality. - Why is the first load slow? The first visit downloads the neighbourhood once; after that it opens in seconds. - Is the map real? The roads are, from OpenStreetMap, squeezed a little to fit a game. Every business in it is a parody. - Which area comes next? More of Bengaluru comes area by area, with no dates promised.
